Pictures of Hope

My niece spent the first two weeks of her life in the NICU. I am so grateful that the staff at Meritcare was so helpful and amazing. While I can always donate money, I have wanted to give back in other ways. I found this group online and thought it was just what I needed to do!
"Pictures of Hope is a charitable organization of professional photographers who provide complimentary, documentary-style, photography sessions to babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and their families. The Pictures of Hope Foundation is comprised of photographers (many of whom are “NICU mothers” themselves) from across the United States and Canada who are dedicated to donating their time to a cause they believe in, and sharing the gift of photography with families in need."

Now I can give my prayers, talents, and time to the families who are going through the same things my family and I did.

If you know of anyone in the Fargo area who could use this service, please have them contact me.

The Studio - Day 7

I didn't take any pictures of the studio, because I didn't really accomplish too much! I worked on the kid's area a little and tried to figure out where to hang things. Hopefully I get more done tomorrow! I have parts of two Senior sessions tomorrow afternoon and then I'll be working to get things moved in! Hopefully I will have pictures to post for you!

And on the 6th day, she rested...

I didn't work in the studio today. I went to a car show in Fergus Falls with my parents. Of course I brought my camera!

I am planning on cleaning the carpets in the studio and hopefully getting things moved in this week! So stay tuned for another post! :)

The Studio - Day 5

Day 5 was pretty much the last day for the remodeling/hammering/racket making in the studio! Here's the outside. You can see the shears that I didn't take a picture of yesterday.

I'm not a very superstitious person, but I'm hoping this is a good sign! I was sweeping the sidewalk and there was a penny heads up! :)

Here is my future desk/meeting area. I still need a table and another chair!

Stuff I don't need anymore! Hooray! :)

The kid's area. I have lots of things planned for this area!

Closeup of the door with the awesome detailing and sheers.

With help from my dad, we finished up the dividing wall. I didn't trust myself to measure all the strips right. Thanks Dad! :)

Another view of the kid's area.

The front door. Those black strips are to hold the curtains back, in case you were wondering.

View of the west wall. I will probably put props on the shelf!

View of the north wall.

View of the south wall.

I just need to clean the carpets and then start my favorite part... moving stuff in and decorating!

The Studio - Day 4

Today was another productive day! I got one set of curtains up!

I also got the inside of the door painted, along with the rest of the walls! Everything is trimmed and even got a second coat! I put up some shears on the door, but I didn't take a picture of it after.

It started pouring! I was a little scared because it had gotten so dark and windy outside!

The east tin wall is gorgeous. I really like this color on it. You can see the details better. I even got the top molding up on the wall above the west dividing wall and this wall.

View of the curtains closed.

What a mess! :(

Oliver was pretty tired by 10:30.

I painted the baseboards (some parts were in rough shape) and finished painting everything by 10:30. I finished up the molding on the top of the walls near the ceiling. I left at about 11:30 and I had even put that shelf together!

Tomorrow I'm going to finish up the details on the dividing wall and then clean everything up and clean the carpets. Hopefully I can start moving stuff in next week! :)

The Studio - Day 3

Not a whole lot happened today besides getting the paneling up on the dividing wall and getting some glass in the window! I got a few shelves and things like that, too.

I did take the peg board down and get the wall all patched up.

This is the brand spankin' new wall! I just need to finish it off. You can also see a table and shelf I need to fix/put together.

The outside of the building when I left today. Tomorrow I need to run and get a few more supplies that I didn't know I needed or that I mis-measured. (Oops.) I can't wait until it's all done! The worst part is going to be cleaning it before I can really decorate! :)

Sisters

First off, I would just like to say that I'm jealous of their cool cowgirl boots! These sisters are adorable!

I'm loving hay bales right now! Just look how cute they look on them, though!

Miss R was totally working the camera!

Miss S is two.. and too cute!

This one looks like it belongs in a magazine! She was leading the horse, Shorty, up to be in a few pictures and the evening sunlight was just gorgeous! I may get a canvas of it for my studio!

This one cracks me up! Shorty sneezed and the girls' reactions are priceless!
